Synopsis
The Number One (and only) Unofficial Magazine of Reddit.
The Redditor is a DIY digital magazine created entirely from original content posted on reddit.com and exclusive work from the community.
Our goal is to give special tribute and attention to the best stories, posts, and photos each month. Get rid of the mess, feature what gets buried in the shuffle, and package it all up in a clean, easy to read PDF for your computer/iPad/smartphone.
We hope the magazine will let more people spend time with and appreciate quality submissions they had previously either missed or only skimmed through. The Redditor magazine serves as a new way to publish work from a massive group of talented people whom otherwise may never be noticed. This is a community effort, embracing the community, for the community.
Contents
Issue 1, July 2011
The one that started it all. Just a mock cover, no actual content in this issue.
Issue 2, August 2011
We are very excited to present our first full issue of The Redditor. This month we find out ways to get of a date, chat with NASA scientists, read of a teen's struggle with institutionalized abuse, and stumble upon an accidental western scene.
Issue 3, September 2011
Our next full issue is here and it's a big one. We pulled on board a great graphic designer, and made a huge effort to improve the magazine in every way.
This month we find learn the value of space exploration, chat with a private investigator and a coin carving enthusiast, read the first few chapters of modern day army vs a Roman empire, and re-imagine the idea of a Smurf.
Issue 4, October 2011 (Halloween Special)
To celebrate Halloween we’ve packed the pages with the darker side of reddit - interviews from those more familiar with the dead than the living, paranormal experiences, scary stories, and creepy photos. It’s our largest issue yet with some fun twists along the way, but we didn’t stop there - this month we’ve gone the extra mile and created some amazing original artwork and a great new layout. As always, everything featured is some of the best reddit has to offer, and our goal is to take the content further. This Halloween, we take you on a journey beyond.
Issue 5, November 2011
In this issue we continue to feature great original content from reddit, but also some new exclusive content for the magazine. We teamed up with a guest artist to create some amazing chapter intros, feature a new photo series produced by the reddit staff, offer an exclusive AMA from a unique reddit artist, and much more as always. Our largest issue to date.
Issue 6, January 2012
This month we have again collaborated with two incredible guest artists, a duo from Essex England called Rotten Riddlers, who have created four original pieces that I think everyone will enjoy - classic movies.. with zombies. Must be seen. As always we have 60+ pages of the month's best AskReddits, AMA's, Stories, Pics - plus an exclusive Q&A feature with RedditGifts / SecretSanta founder Dan McComas (kickme444), and a handful of the much requested LifeProTips.
Issue 7, March 2012
This issue of The Redditor brings the most exclusive content we've featured yet. Exclusive AMA's from an incredible artist Johan Potma, a woman who traveled alone to an African witch colony and black market, Q&A from Minecraft creator Markus Persson (aka Notch), /FirstWorldProblems, Subreddit of the Month, AskRedddits, AMAs, Stories, and Pics as always. We've collaborated with two guest artists this time around, Jesse Mead creating our beautiful chapter pages, and Kate Glasheen bringing over a dozen illustrations to push our already wonderful content even further. All this and more weighing in as our largest issue yet at 70 pages.
